Builder Custom LP Routes

Overview​

To allow the webOps team more flexibility for their own marketing experimentation, we also provide a "wildcard" route, which allows them to self-service and create any LPs on Builder that will automatically populate on the production website.

Currently, we're organizing legacy landing pages (LPs) in our /routes directory — see full list below. To request changes to these manually managed pages, please reach out to the engineering team.

How to set up a "wildcard" or custom route​

  • Go to Builder workspace.
  • Create a new page model.
  • When creating the new page model, assign this naming convention for the URL:
    • /p/${HANDLE} — ex. /p/wild-card
  • Add the Builder content models and publish.
  • Check the URL on production: https://birdygrey.com/p/${HANDLE}

Good to knows​

  • The LPs that are not currently self-service are actively undergoing A/B experimentation or there are unique route assertions that we need to consider.
    • For example: on any pages that contain /pages/swatch-color-palettes, we hide the Site Switcher, Announcement Bar components. This is a permanent unique feature for these specific LPs.
